After more than a year of serving the digital currency community as The Genesis Block, we’re proud to announce the new name of our firm: TradeBlock. In addition to continuing the research and data products that have made this site a globally-referenced resource for digital currency analysis, we’re also rolling out the first in a series of updates to a growing arsenal of tools for enthusiasts and professionals. Helping to make this a reality is our newest team member, Darren Sri-Jayantha, TradeBlock’s first full-time addition since our inception last year.
The digital currency markets have been defined by a constantly-changing landscape, with new exchanges and alt-coins rising and falling in prominence almost daily. To offer insight around these unique dynamics, today we rolled out the first in a series of updates to TradeBlock Markets.
We began by including the first version of our newly-released charting engine, built from the ground up by our team to address the needs of our growing toolset. Previous performance issues caused by user connectivity or computer performance should now be mitigated.
The tool now also includes data from a host of additional exchanges, namely itBit, Kraken, Bitfinex, OKCoin, and Huobi, with more coming soon. By popular request, the top nine Litecoin exchanges are now featured as well (toggle highlighted in red below). As was already the case with the bitcoin exchanges, all rates are also automatically shown as converted to the fiat currency of your choice (toggle highlighted in yellow below).
The settings box has also been replaced by a list of aggregate market stats, including coin market capitalizations and cumulative 24H volume of the exchanges listed, divided by currency. For those looking for the settings box that used to be there, all customizable options are now exposed across the top of the main chart.

New Team Member
TradeBlock is proud to announce that we’ve freed another brilliant technologist from the clutches of life in the bulge bracket. Joining our team full time is Darren Sri-Jayantha, an avid digital currency enthusiast with a degree in Computer Science from Princeton University.
Darren began his career as an application developer at JPMorgan before transitioning to the firm’s Sales & Trading program where he was promoted to Associate. In that role, he designed and built proprietary software to analyze bulk data from mortgage backed securities.
Darren has been looking for the right opportunity to apply his skill set to digital currencies full-time, regularly participating in hackathons and trading actively from his own portfolio. We couldn’t be happier to have him on board to help expand TradeBlock’s suite of digital currency data tools.
